Flamingos sits immediately north of Nuevo Vallarta and shares the same long golden beach, but with more space between properties and fewer people on the sand. It grew up around Flamingos Golf Club, one of the oldest courses on this coast, and the district still has that low-rise, spread-out feel.
Several of the largest all-inclusive resorts in Banderas Bay are on this stretch, including a well-known cluster of Spanish-brand properties. Because they sit further from the airport and further from town, rates here often land a step below equivalent rooms in Nuevo Vallarta.
Beach and water
Same wide, flat sand as Nuevo Vallarta with a longer walk before you meet anyone. Summer brings bigger shorebreak; winter is calm. It is a good stretch for long morning walks and for watching whales offshore between December and March.

Bucerías is a ten-minute drive north for restaurants and a Sunday market; Nuevo Vallarta's marina and shopping are ten minutes south. Outside the resorts, the district itself is residential and quiet.
