All-Inclusive Resorts in Bucerías & La Cruz

Bucerías is a proper town: an eight-kilometre beach, an old church square, cobbled art streets and a long roster of open-air seafood restaurants where a whole grilled fish still costs less than a resort cocktail. La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, ten minutes further north, is a working fishing village that grew a world-class marina and one of the best Sunday markets in the region.

All-inclusive options are limited here on purpose — most accommodation is boutique hotels, villas and condos. What does exist is worth knowing about, and it lets you combine a resort plan with a town you can actually walk around at night.

Why people love Bucerías

The beach is enormous, shallow and calm enough for children, and it is one of the few places in the bay where you can walk for an hour and still be in front of restaurants. The Art Walk on Thursdays in season and the fish tacos on Calle Lázaro Cárdenas do most of the recruiting.

La Cruz de Huanacaxtle

Marina Riviera Nayarit is the departure point for whale watching, sailing and fishing charters, and the Sunday mercado del mar from November to April is a genuine event. Restaurants here are better than the town's size suggests.
